Oh hey ... it's been a while. I've gone analog the past couple months, rekindling the romance with film and discovering larger formats (medium format, 4x5 large formats ...), and finding that while seemingly everyone had moved onto digital, film makers were still busy improving their stocks. I've also shot _real_ black and white film for the first time in my life, and discovered that was a ton of fun

Anyway, the lack of an iOS app for deviantArt is definitely a barrier ("activation energy" in science talk) to being active here again. I know there's a mobile version, but it's not that. dA lacks any form of notifications (email, SMS, native app, etc.) to get my attention in an otherwise busy life (e.g. trying to finish my thesis.) ... maybe that's why it's deviant.
